A Rustic Backyard Wedding in Eaton, New York

This rustic backyard wedding was pretty special for us! Not only because it brought us back to Central New York, but because it was filled with many of our good friends from college!! Last year we had the honor of photographing our dear friend Meghan’s wedding while Jada was a bridesmaid and this time we had the honor of photographing Jada’s wedding while Meghan was a bridesmaid!

Jada and Chris’s rustic backyard wedding took place in Eaton, New York on acres of private land owned by Jada’s family! Their reception space was originally a horse barn converted into a kitchen, bar and dinning area where her family began holding a yearly family get-together. The space was loved so much by the family that they started using it for family weddings. Little by little they continued to add-on to the structure. Jada and Chris were the third wedding to take place on the family property and wait until you see all the beautiful DIY details they added! From a homemade chandelier made out of tree branches, to a popcorn bar and a vintage looking arbor for their ceremony … it was amazing to see the love and support from their family in order to make Jada and Chris’s wedding one of a kind!

While I loved just about everything about this wedding some of my favorite moments of the day had to be Jada’s beautiful emotional reveal with her Father followed later by Chris’s tearful reaction as Jada walked down the aisle. And once these two were pronounced Mr. & Mrs. the fun started right away as they danced down the aisle to “Walk it out” … even Jada’s Grandfather “Walked it Out” down the aisle! I also don’t want to forget to mention all the gorgeous photo locations on their land! From the woods to an old wooden bridge over a stream to an overgrown field that Jada’s family mowed a path for photos … everything was so well thought out and perfect and I could go on and on about their day! I’m also pretty sure they need to go into the wedding venue business!
