A Ellery Farms Wedding in Woodruff, South Carolina

A week before Devan & Ryan’s Ellery Farms Wedding I started doing my normal wedding prep which includes looking at the weather every day until the wedding. October in South Carolina is beautiful and pretty much guarantees sun and temperatures in the mid 70’s and their day was looking like a normal October day in South Carolina! But as I continued checking during the week the unexpected started flashing across the news … Hurricane Matthew was heading towards South Carolina and was expected to hit the coast on Saturday, the day of Devan & Ryan’s wedding! I immediately started my rain and wind back up plan because nothing was going to stop us from capturing amazing images … Hurricane Matthew or not!!

Thankfully, since Devan & Ryan’s wedding took place in upstate South Carolina, most of the effects from the hurricane missed us! We only had some minor wind gusts and the sun actually came out for sunset photos! It could not have worked out better since Ellery Farms has the most beautiful grounds and just glows at sunset when the sun sets behind the surrounding fields and trees!

We had so much fun capturing their day! Devan and Ryan got ready in the beautiful old Ellery Farms farmhouse which is hands down my favorite getting ready location I have ever photographed in! Filled will gorgeous light, vintage furnishings and old hardwood floors … I was ready to pack my bags and move in!! I loved that the girls all had beautiful matching floral robes and personalized hangers for their bridesmaid dresses. But some of my favorite moments from the day came from the personal touches that Devan and Ryan included in their day from their hidden first look to Devan’s reveal to her Father and then Devan’s surprise dance with her Mom! Their day was filled with so much happiness and love!

All day long Devan & Ryan’s friends and family cheered them on and surrounded them with love. Hurricane Matthew may have threatened the weather for their wedding day but it certainly did not steal their joy! Devan and Ryan had one heck of a celebration! Their friends and family partied the night away and then gathered under the stars to send Devan and Ryan off with a sparkler exit! Congratulations Devan & Ryan, ENJOY some of my favorites from your wedding day!
