A River Banks Zoo Wedding in Columbia, South Carolina.

We couldn’t have asked for a better ending for our 2018 spring wedding season! Anytime we get the opportunity to shoot at a new venue it is always so much fun but when that venue is a zoo … well it just doesn’t get much better than that! If anyone knows me well then you know I love animals so this location just made my heart so happy!! And when Mary asked if we could stay after their bubble exit to capture some additional bride and groom shots throughout the zoo while they relived what was once one of their firsts date together I couldn’t wait!

Mary & Peter’s wedding was filled with so many personal touches. Some of my favorites included the ceremony location, Rutledge Chapel, which was a beautiful chapel on the campus that Mary graduated from. Hearing Mary talk to her bridesmaids about how fun it was to be the bride taking photos on these grounds after all those years watching other brides made our portrait time even more special! Mary also wore her mother’s gorgeous wedding veil and I still can’t get over how well it coordinated with the gown Mary chose! And my favorite personal touch has to be the zoo. I love that Mary and Peter brought it all back to where it all began. We had so much fun recreating photos they took on their first date as well as even grabbing a Pepsi Slushy just like they did on their date!

Another fun fact about this sweet couple, remember the famous solar eclipse? You know the once and a lifetime crazy event last 2017? Well that was the day these two became engaged, Peter proposed to Mary during the solar eclipse!! These two seriously have one of the best love stories!
