As a photographer you always have a list of things you want to photograph as well as locations you hope to photograph. Well this family session checked two things off our list … a surprise proposal and photographing at Glassy Chapel!! When Carol contacted me to chat about their family session while everyone was in town for the 4th of July holiday and the surprise proposal for her daughter I couldn’t wait! And even more fitting and perfect … her daughter’s name is also Mallory!

Well Glassy Chapel did not disappoint and neither did the surprise proposal! The day of the session we checked and double-checked the weather because seriously these summer storms in South Carolina have been a daily occurrence. The hourly forecast looked great when we left and then as we pulled into the cliffs it was like a storm popped up out of nowhere! But the Norton family was awesome and game for working around the rain … nothing was going to stop this proposal and as a Mom myself, when you get everyone ready and coordinated you do not want to repeat that process!

So we may not have had that summer sunset but watching the clouds on top of Glassy Mountain has to be the next best thing! And the surprise proposal could not have been more perfect. Just as Mallory thought they were taking couples photos Jordan got down on one knee in front of the whole family overlooking the clouds and the rest is history! The moment was filled with excitement, tears and most of all joy. Congratulations Mallory & Jordan and a big thank you to the whole family for trusting us with these memories. We loved getting to know all of you and had so much fun capturing these family moments! Enjoy some of our favorites from your session!
