Some of my absolute favorite personal family photos are the ones we have captured while on vacation. Maybe it’s because vacations seem to always be filled with so much joy and just the best memories but I love them so much and they are usually the photos that fill the albums and walls in our home. They make me smile and bring me back to that moment when we were all together having fun without the everyday schedules and appointments.

And for that reason it made me so happy when this beautiful family contacted me to plan a surprise family photo session for a father’s day gift while they would be vacation at a lake cabin in Salem, SC. A session with 5 boys is pretty crazy let me tell you but so much fun to capture! And since it was vacation what better way to end a warm summer session than jumping in the lake with your clothes on! They even got Dad to join them!
