Hilton Head Family Photos | Beach Vacation 2020
This was our second year in a row visiting Hilton Head Island in South Carolina! We absolutely loved our time last year and couldn’t wait to go back again for this vacation. And while this vacation was much different because of everything going on with covid, the beach and fresh air was just what our family needed! So this blog it a little bit different since we didn’t really venture out from our resort and also it was my baby-moon!
We originally planned to stay at the Westin, which looks absolutely gorgeous so a trip there will definitely need to be planned in the future! But as things got a little worse with this crazy pandemic we decided last minute that a place with more room was just what we need and the Marriott’s Grande Ocean was perfect. Two rooms, two bathrooms, a living area, kitchen, laundry room, and patio were awesome to have as a family! And what I loved about the location is if you walked a little bit past the resort, the beach was much more quiet which we always look for when vacationing at the ocean!
And while I don’t have many food recommendations since we ate mostly take out as well as food we cooked we did make three visits to the Hilton Head Social Bakery, so I don’t think I need to elaborate on how amazing this place is! Another favorite for seafood takeout while there was The Crazy Crab. I was a little limited on what I could eat being pregnant but their fresh shrimp was so good!
We had such a fun time on this trip! Joie swam in the ocean for the first time without one of us holding her. We saw dolphins while swimming and Joie held sand dollars and Sea Stars! Sunset walks and family photos ended our days at the beach but there is nothing that makes me happier than seeing just how much Joie loves the beach like her mama and dada! Even though it is backfiring a bit now that we are home and she keeps asking to go back!
Last but not least a few things we learned from this beach trip! 1) A beach cart is a must when you have kids. I mean totally next level easier than when we were trying to carry everything last year! 2) Jelly fish stings hurt! I’m sure you guessed that but gosh this was my first time ever getting one. Salt water plus a lavender spray worked wonders to take the sting away but the mark definitely takes a couple weeks to fade! 3) You can never pack enough snacks for the beach with a toddler! I think she ate constantly!
I will include links to some of our favorite beach items and outfits below and if you have any questions feel free to ask. All photos were taken by us, a tripod was awesome for grabbing some family shots! We typically book a family photographer which I highly recommend for those full family shots but this trip was a little last minute so that work perfectly. Enjoy a few of our favorite memories from our Hilton Head family beach vacation!
