Baby Girl Ma’s Virtual Baby Shower | Greenville, SC Family Photographer
Yesterday we celebrated our second baby girl on the way with a virtual sprinkle shower! With a pandemic in full force and family and friends all over the country we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our baby girl than with a video call to connect everyone. And while it wasn’t your traditional in person shower I loved that it allowed us to all be together!
But before I talk a little more about what we did I wanted to make sure I thanked the two people that made this happen, and they both happen to be my best friends in life. My amazing husband, Kevin and my best friend growing up Chelsea! I love you both and cant thank you enough.
You see, one of the toughest things about this whole pregnancy is that my number one best friend, my own mom, is not here this time around. It’s not something I talk about a lot because it still hurts my heart so much doing life without her but gosh I can still remember her excitement when I was pregnant with Joie and all I can imagine is how much love she would have for this sweet baby too. It was my mom that coordinated my first shower and my husband who made sure this piece wasn’t missing without my mom here. So most of all I am thankful that my loved ones kept this tradition going and I know my mom was celebrating in heaven with us!
Our shower was not filled with all the delicious food and drinks from our first one but we still wanted to make it feel like a party. In fact our daughter is still calling it baby’s birthday party LOL. Since gifts were mailed we didn’t want to spend time opening gifts in front of our guests since it would be much more difficult to see on video. So we decided to use them as part of the décor and display them around us so everyone could see. Kevin also ordered me the most beautiful floral arrangements from one of our favorite local florists, which I will link below! He knows my favorite colors so well! And last but not least the balloon arch! I’m so in love with it all and can’t wait to show our baby girl someday! We still played games, which were actually a lot of fun to do virtually, think polls and multiple-choice questions! And most importantly we had time to just catch up with everyone. One of the things I was most worried about was people talking over other people and it really wasn’t a problem! Overall I would definitely recommend a virtual party or shower, even if it’s not a pandemic I think it’s the perfect way to connect with family and friends all over in addition to having something in person!
