Those first few days or even weeks at home with your new baby are some of the hardest days and at the very same time the most incredible days of your life. And this is especially true if you are a first time parent. Sometimes it feels like you might never get the hang of this whole parenting thing or your not sure if you will ever understand what they mean by understanding your baby’s cues or cries. And then slowly it all starts making sense.

But those early days really are magical and it’s easy to pass on documenting this stage just because of how tired you are or how fussy you think your baby will be. The truth is that these sessions are not meant to be perfect, they are just meant to be real. I expect you to be tired, I expect your baby to cry or need to be fed. I expect you to need a little extra time and for your baby to need breaks. These things are natural and absolutely expected. The only thing I ask of you is to soak up the moment, snuggle with that sweet new baby of yours and love them. And then just let me be the one to freeze all those memories for you to look back on when years have passed and this time of your life feels like it’s fading.
