Baby Hudson In-home Newborn Session | Newborn photography Spartanburg SC
I often get asked about the timing for newborn sessions so I am going to spend a little time to answer the question. I recommend 8-12 days after birth with the exception of Fresh 48 hospital sessions which take place within 24 hours after birth. However the 8-12 days is really only if you are looking for those really early mostly sleepy baby photos and your trying for a bit more natural baby led poses.
Since my style of photography is baby led, I do not pose baby in any poses that are unnatural for baby such as froggy pose. Because of this there is much more wiggle room for documenting your newborn photos and I find it can be nice for moms to have a little more time for recovery and families to settle. It’s really common for me to document babies who are 3 or 4 weeks old and some up to 6 weeks old.
The best time is what works best for you and your family. And when you look back on your baby’s newborn photos they are still going to look just as tiny whether it be 8-12 days old or 4 weeks old.
