Hi friends! I’m so excited to introduce you to the newest member of our family, Brinley Lynn Ma! She is our second baby girl and we couldn’t be more in love with her arrival!

Her birth story is completely different from our first baby girl Joie since this time around I had a planned c-section. I wasn’t sure what to expect after going through labor and an unplanned c-section the first time but this was a completely different experience. I’m not going to lie it kind of felt strange walking into the hospital all planned and ready first thing in the morning but the biggest difference was that I remembered everything from the procedure, to the recovery and then the move to our room. Because I was in labor so long with our first daughter before having to have a c-section the whole thing felt like such a blur. This time I had the chance to soak it all up.

What I remember most from both experiences though is the incredible feeling of joy when I heard those newborn cries for the first time. The kind of joy that brings tears to your eyes of happiness. It’s the best experience and there is nothing quite like seeing your baby for the first time after dreaming about meeting them for 9 months.

And while there was definitely challenges this time around, hello second pregnancy recovery and pandemic restrictions. I’m so thankful for the amazing doctors and staff at the hospital that made this such a wonderful experience to look back on. While we were not able to have visitors and it will always make me a bit sad that Joie was not able to meet her sister in the hospital I am thankful for the one on one alone time we were able to spend bonding with Brinley in hospital.
